What happened in Fort Worth, Texas, is an abomination that once again shows how far man can fall when he turns away from God. On the morning of April 18th, police responded to 9920 Farmers Branch Street after receiving a disturbing anonymous call. The call came from a person claiming to have seen a horrific image on a Snapchat group: that of a woman covered in blood.
Upon arrival, officers were met by a 23-year-old man, Alexander Taylor Valdez, sitting calmly on the front porch with the Holy Bible in his hands, his face, neck, torso, and limbs covered in blood. Without any shame, he told the police that he was performing "an exorcism."
But the horror did not stop there. When law enforcement asked him to explain the origin of the blood, Valdez replied without flinching:
"I was doing witchcraft to kill my mother."
With chilling cynicism, he added:
"There is a corpse inside, it's my mother."
Inside the house, in the main bedroom, officers discovered the lifeless body of Teresita Sayson, 58, Valdez's mother. The body was covered in blood, marked by multiple injuries to the face and upper body, the result of blows from a blunt object. Near her, a poor dog, also dead, lay in the same room. A broken jewelry box, smeared with blood and hair matching the victim's, was found nearby.
The arrest warrant specifies that Valdez bore the clear marks of the massacre: blood on his face, neck, torso, hands, and feet. He showed no remorse. When he was taken to the homicide bureau for questioning, he refused to answer questions, preferring to request the presence of a lawyer.
Today, Alexander Taylor Valdez is incarcerated at the Tarrant County Jail, formally charged with murder, with bail set at $750,000.
This heinous crime, steeped in the darkness of witchcraft and rebellion against natural and divine law, is a tragic reminder of what the abandonment of true faith produces. Far from the Church, far from Christ, souls are lost in the abyss of evil.
