The Gospel of the Day: Jesus Christ is God, not a "Humanist"
"The Father has given the Son all power to judge." (John 5:17-30)
Why did the Pharisees want to kill Jesus? Because He asserted His absolute equality with the Father. The tragedy of our relativistic century is the attempt to "humanize" Christ in order to better neutralize Him. He is made into a prophet of peace, a friendly companion on the journey, a social activist, all to avoid having to kneel before the sovereign Judge.
But Tradition is clear: Jesus is God, or He is nothing. Our political and spiritual struggle is nothing but the recognition of the Social Kingship of Christ. To honor the Son is to obey Him. To refuse this divinity is to condemn oneself to wandering!
The Saint of the Day: Saint Cyril of Jerusalem, the Unbending Shepherd
Imagine an Eastern sky, in May 351. A gigantic cross, brighter than the sun, stretches from Calvary to the Mount of Olives. It is under this prodigious sign that Saint Cyril of Jerusalem exercised his ministry.
Appointed bishop of the Holy City in the midst of the chaos of the Arian heresy (which denied the divinity of Christ), Cyril was a man of dialogue, but never of compromise. For refusing to bend the knee to the powerful and for selling Church property to feed the poor, he was exiled three times! Sixteen years of wandering.
His famous Catecheses teach us today that faith is defended at the cost of one's freedom. Truth always triumphs over darkness in the end, even if one must spend one's life as an outcast.
The Scandal: An Electro Nightclub in a Consecrated Church
It is the image shocking Christian Europe. In Vienna, Austria, St. Charles Borromeo Church will be transformed into a discotheque on April 17th. Under the fallacious pretext of a "silent disco" with headphones, the rector of the place has authorized the arrival of DJs and electronic music in the very heart of a building consecrated to prayer for the dead.
This is a total capitulation to worldly entertainment and a direct insult to the majesty of God. When incense is replaced by turntables and the sacred by neon lights, we are not bringing young people closer to the Church: we are distancing them from Salvation. How far will this profanation of our holy places go with the blessing of certain clerics?
Catholic News in Brief: The 5 Things to Remember
Beyond the Vienna scandal, here is what to remember from the current spiritual battle:
- Artificial Intelligence and Dehumanization: Pope Leo XIV is preparing to release the encyclical Magnifica humanitas. A shocking text that reminds us that the machine must never replace the human soul, the unique reflection of God. Progress without a soul is a march toward the abyss.
- The UN Faces the Baby Market: The Holy See, through the voice of Archbishop Caccia, has called for the total eradication of Surrogacy (GPA). A child is not a product in a catalog. Human dignity is not for rent, no matter what the progressive lobbies in Geneva say!

- Tradition in Rome: King Felipe VI of Spain will be invested as a proto-canon of the Basilica of Saint Mary Major. A powerful symbol of the unbreakable ties between the Spanish Crown and the Holy See, reminding us that the legitimacy of European nations comes from their fidelity to the Cross.
