The situation is grave for our heritage and our mountain landscapes. An industrial project threatens to radically disfigure a place of peace and spirituality: Notre-Dame des Neiges Abbey, located on the border between Ardèche and Lozère.
In my latest video, I revisit this scandalous situation and call for a massive mobilization.
A Disproportionate Project in the Heart of Wilderness
Imagine giant wind turbines 150 to 180 meters tall, erected right in front of an abbey perched in the heart of a wildlife sanctuary. This project, led by major industrial groups, plans to install 6 to 10 turbines that would shatter the sacred silence of this place of retreat.
Why We Must Oppose It
Beyond the disastrous visual impact, the stakes are multiple:
- Disfigurement of Landscapes: These concrete structures will spoil the view for kilometers, impacting the famous Stevenson Trail.
- Danger to Biodiversity: At least 36 protected species of birds and bats are counted, whose habitat is directly threatened.
- An Ecological Imposture: As I explain in the video, these projects often serve more to capture public subsidies than to meet a real energy need, all while using materials from distant mines.
- Harm to Spirituality: This project risks compromising the serenity essential to monastic life and to retreatants who come to seek God in silence.
How to Act?
The sisters of the abbey do not have the financial or political means to fight alone against these industrial giants. It is up to us, Catholics, French citizens, and nature lovers, to take over.
- Sign the petition: It has already gathered thousands of signatures, but we must explode this number to have weight with local elected officials.
- Share the information: Do not let this project happen in the shadows. Send this article and the video to your loved ones.
- Stay informed: Join my WhatsApp channel to follow the evolution of this fight.
Let us not allow money and industrial interests to destroy Creation.
